WELCOME

Everything you need to prepare — practices, reflections, community, and resources — is gathered here for you. The program begins in February 2027. In the meantime, this is your home.

THE TEACHERS JOURNEY

From Practice to Service

Each month between now and the start of the program, Jack and Tara will send you a letter and a guided practice. You’ll find all of them here as they arrive.

Welcome. You’ve taken a courageous step—saying yes to becoming a teacher of mindfulness. In these months before our February 2027 gathering, we invite you into the most essential preparation: your own daily practice.

There’s a beautiful simplicity at the heart of all we’ll explore together. Before you can guide others home to presence, you must know the way yourself. Not perfectly—none of us do—but intimately. Each time you sit, you’re not preparing for some future moment of teaching; you’re living the very transformation you’ll one day offer.

“Your practice is not preparation. It is the teaching itself.”

Whether you’ve been meditating for years or are returning to establish a daily rhythm, we invite you to meet yourself exactly where you are. Perhaps 10–15 minutes each morning, or twice daily if that serves you. What matters is not the length of time but the quality of return—coming back again and again to this moment, this breath, this tender human experience.

We offer you two practices to begin:

▶ Arriving Where We Are — with JackFor days when the mind feels scattered and you need to simply land
▶ Recognizing Sensations — with TaraFor cultivating the spacious presence that can hold all things

As you practice, notice everything: the resistance, the restlessness, the unexpected moments of peace, the familiar stories your mind tells. All of this—the whole messy, beautiful truth of your inner life—this becomes the ground of authentic teaching.

Trust that each time you return to your practice, you’re already serving. You’re already becoming the teacher this world needs.

With warmth and welcome,

Tara & Jack

There’s a moment in every meditator’s journey when practice shifts from something we do to something we are. When the practice becomes not a discipline but a homecoming. This month, we invite you into that deepening.

You’ve likely encountered the program requirement: “two years of consistent practice.” But we’re not asking you to accumulate time like stamps in a passport. We’re inviting you to fall in love—with your own capacity for presence, with the miracle of awareness itself, with the breath that has been breathing you since before you could remember.

“Practice isn’t about clocking hours. It’s about showing up to the most important relationship of your life: the one with your own heart.”

Mindfulness and Compassionate Presence — with Jack

As you practice, become a student of your own experience: How does the teacher’s voice create a sense of safety? What allows you to soften into trust? When does the mind resist, and what invites it back? Where do you discover the natural kindness of awareness?

After you practice, sit with these reflections: What did I discover about the connection of attention and kindness? How might my own difficult moments with practice become doorways of compassion? What wants to be known about my relationship with this path?

The students who will find you are those who need to see that awakening happens not despite our humanity but through it. Your honest, tender, thoroughly imperfect relationship with practice is the greatest gift you have to offer.

With deep bows to your practice,

Jack & Tara
