Peggy DiVincenzo

Welcome! My mentoring style is collaborative and collegial. I value the wisdom of developing teachers and enjoy learning from them while working together. My passions are understanding human nature, pursuing social justice, preserving the natural world and practicing awe and wonder daily. I’ve practiced mindfulness meditation since 1980 and received training in the vipassana tradition from The Insight Meditation Community of Washington (IMCW), Barre Center for Buddhist Studies (BCBS), and The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy (IMP). Since 2013 I’ve been an IMCW teacher and have led meditation groups in corporate, community mental health, and private practice settings in Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. My greatest interest and most of my experience has been in the application of mindfulness meditation practice in clinical settings.  I’ve taught mental health clients, trained clinicians in the use of mindfulness and self-compassion, and have led short retreats on these topics.  Special areas of interest are Buddhism and psychotherapy, engaged Buddhism, and the importance of compassion and self-compassion for emotional health.
