Trish Magyari, MS, LCPC, RYT-200, (she/her) is a trauma-informed mindfulness and compassion-based psychotherapist; a Certified MBSR and Certified MSC teacher; an Insight meditation teacher, sangha, and retreat leader; an MBSR and SCIP mentor; and a yoga teacher who is joyfully returning as an MMTCP Mentor. Trish taught in mindfulness-based clinical trials for people with chronic pain, for urban youth, for moms of ill babies, for those HIV positive and those with PTSD, pioneering trauma-informed mindfulness. Trish has taught mindfulness to patients, students, and staff at hospitals, clinics, universities, schools, and jails, as well as to the public at urban community centers, yoga studios, churches, her own center, and online. Previously, Trish was a genetic counselor specializing in grief counseling and adaptation to disability. She taught in a clinical master’s program for 17 years, honing her warm and active mentoring style to match each student’s learning needs. Trish loves walking pilgrimage paths, contradancing, singing, nature, and social justice.
