Alexa Redner has been practicing meditation since 2003. She is a graduate of the Dedicated Practitioners Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center and has been mentored to teach by James Baraz. She holds a BA in visual arts and MA in creation spirituality from Naropa University.
Before becoming a mother, Alexa taught for Mindful Schools and worked as an eating disorders educator for Beyond Hunger. She spent the last 10 years teaching Waldorf kindergarten while raising her young son. Alexa now works as a teacher for Cloud Sangha, leading weekly community discussion groups, meditations, immersion sanghas, and individual mentoring sessions.
Alexa’s emphasis on somatic mindfulness and concentration practice is inspired by “Soulmaking Dharma,” as taught by Rob Burbea and Catherine McGee, as well as Lama Willa Baker’s teachings of “The Wakeful Body.” As a student of the Diamond Approach, she loves to bring deep inquiry to her practice and teaching.
