Cynthia Wilcox is a psychologist and mindfulness and meditation teacher. Her work has evolved toward teaching the skills of mindfulness and emotional regulation through embodied awareness, both with individuals and groups. As a Mentor for MMTCP students, she holds space for students to evolve and find their unique voice as a teacher. She believes we are most effective when we teach from our own direct experience, so she encourages students to articulate their learnings and translate understanding gained from their own practice. We are all on this journey together, and we can all learn from each other. The Mentor Group becomes a model for the sangha we each seek to create for our students. Humans are in need of connection and belonging, and the world needs each one of us to show up and facilitate opportunities for people to connect, learn from each other, and embrace the values and beliefs we share.
