Augusta Hopkins

Augusta Hopkins is a cisgender white woman who recognizes that this social location informs her experience. She has been leading mindfulness meditation gatherings since 2006 and teaching since 2011. Augusta’s focus is embodiment. She is currently guiding white people to awaken from the delusion of white supremacy. Augusta offers a blend of present moment awareness (Thich Nhat Hanh) and a cultivation of wisdom (Ajahn Chah) that comes from simply being. She is the only MBSR teacher in San Francisco—maybe the world—ordained by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and authorized to teach meditation and dharma by Spirit Rock. Augusta cofounded SF Sangha and founded Mindfulness for Stress Reduction and Success, providing mindfulness programs for individuals, groups, and organizations. Augusta’s passion will inspire you to find yours. Her style has been called “Zen with an edge!”
